Spring

In this session we focused on using visualisation skills to design a product.

We discussed the importance of the the user and purpose of a product and then children designed a new package for a Cadbury creme egg!

 

What Went Well . . .

  • All children spoke positively about their topics.
  • KS2 children could clearly articulate their learning.
  • KS2 children asked lots of questions about ways they can further develop their skills.
  • KS1 children talked a lot about their enjoyment of their topics.
  • Children could retrieve learning from last year about engineering and its links to DT.
  • Years 5 and 6 spoke about using their engineering skills in this years DT topics.
  • Children could explain that visualisation helps them to see what they want to do.

 

Even Better If . . .

  • Children shared that they wanted more time to focus on their final outcome so that they can work more on their appearance.
  • Children suggested being able to do more engineering tasks.
  • Children wanted to find out more about how DT helps them in the 'real world' and how it links to jobs in the future.
