Meet the staff team
Mrs Collins, class teacher.
I have worked at All Saints' for 13 years now, following my teacher training in 2011, when I retrained at All Saints'. Previously I worked as a hotel manager and was a chef / owner of my own restaurant and coffee shop for a number of years - what a career change! I had wanted to be a teacher for a number of years, and finally took the plunge just after my third son was born.
I have mainly been based in Key Stage 2 and this is my first time as a full time class teacher in Key Stage 1 - something I have been wanting to do for quite a while now!
I have 3 sons - my eldest, Freddie, is starting Newcastle university this September to study engineering. My middle son, Archie, is starting the second year of A Levels and my youngest, Albert, goes into Year 9. All three came to All Saints' and absolutely loved their time here. I have a gorgeous dog called Jasper, and love to take him on long, peaceful walks.
My favourite thing to do is read, but a close second is going to the theatre, especially to see musicals and plays and I try to go as often as possible! I also love to travel, and love nothing more than a city break - preferably with a theatre trip thrown in!
I am very excited to be teaching year 2!
Mrs Long, class teaching assistant
My name is Mrs Long, I am a teaching assistant in Hazel Class. I am married to Ian and have one daughter- Caitlin who goes to Accrington Academy, She loves dancing and all sports. I have a son called Connor who is in year 11 at Accrington Academy and he is taller than me! I do often tell the class funny stories about my children, they will learn lots about them! As a family we rescued a cat, he is called Georgie and rules the house but is a softy at heart. I have lived in Accrington all my life and I went to St Johns before going to St. Christophers. I went to college and studied Health and Social Care before doing care work for dementia patients.
I wanted a new challenge and teaching in schools is just that!
FUN FACT: I’ve played netball for Hyndburn and Lancashire! I have been a part of Lancashire Bombers Netball Club for a few years now whilst helping with the after- school netball club here at school.
