Summer 1

Children were engaged in joining in with some music as part of an ice breaker. 

WWW - children love singing as part of music and of the wider life in school, for example during Math's lessons and  Worship time, including in class worship.

They all enjoy playing different instruments and this was considered a highlight of music across the year. They all mentioned that they find it really hard when they have notes to follow from the board onto their instrument and would like something written down closer to the instrument so they are not looking at the board and then down at their instrument to follow the notes. 

On the whole the children clearly enjoy music - so much so that they would like more. 

EBI - The children said they didn't have enough music. 

EBI - the children struggled to articulate some of the vocabulary that we said was key from the inset with Lancashire. 

All the children had heard: Pulse, Rhythm and Texture. KS2 knew pitch. No-one had heard Tempo, Dynamics, Timbre.
