Children were able to confidently compare France to the UK. They said that they knew that they don’t use capital letters for months and days of the week and that the adjective is placed in a different place within a noun phrase. They also were able to locate it on a map and knew they used a different currency to us.
They discussed how people in France have different traditions to the UK at Christmas and Easter and that they loved the lessons where they learnt about these traditions.
All classes are using Rigolo to teach and the children love this time.
They were able to share what they knew about the French people they have learnt about this half term. The boys especially loved learning about French footballers!
I asked them why we are learning to speak French and they said, ‘its so cool that we can speak to other French people when we go on holiday’ and ‘it will be easier when we go to high school and have French lessons there’.
They love playing games in their lessons such as bingo, around the world and matching pairs. They see their French lessons as fun.
