Welcome to Year 4, Sycamore class. 

I can't quite believe we are already in the summer term of year 4! We have had so many amazing opportunities where Year 4 have 'Let their light shine' so far and there will be lots more opportunities for this to continue into the summer term.

In English, we are going to be reading two brilliant non-fiction texts. One called 'Fantastically Great Women who Saved the Planet' and our second text is called "Stories for Boys who Dare to be Different'. I know you will really enjoy reading about these amazing male and female figures and finding out how they 'Let their light shine'. We will then also focus on poetry book called 'Blue John'. 

In science, we will be looking at states of matter, sound and electricity and we will also carry out some exciting and mind blowing investigations. Our RE unit focuses on thinking about whether all churches are the same and this unit will also allow us to explore non-Christian faith places of worship such as Mosques and Gurdwaras. In geography, we will look at the water cycle before moving onto looking at the Anglo-Saxons and the Scots in history. As you can see, we have lots of exciting learning coming up!
