Elder 2023 - 2024
Welcome to Elder Class!
In Elder, we are a year 5 class taught by Miss Harrison and Mrs Penaluna.
We hope we are all ready for a brand new year!
In Elder class this term, we will be reading 'Queen of the Falls' by Chris Van Allsburg and 'Goodnight stories for Rebel Girls' by Elena Favilli and Fancesca Cavallo which will lead to some fantastic recount writing. In maths, our main focus will be developing place value and science will focus on Animals including humans and Living things and their habitats. In RE, we will be exploring more amazing women as we look into significant women in the Old Testament, linking to Judaism.
We will be getting creative in Art by creating wire sculptures inspired by Natalie Graham and in DT when we investigate how to build bridges. History and Geography will also lead us to learn about Slums and the Benin Kingdom.
