Maple 2023 - 2024
Welcome to Maple class.
We are a mixed year 1 and 2 class taught by Mrs Jackson and Mrs Donnelly and supported by Mrs Worrall.
What a brilliant summer term we have coming up!
In English, we will be reading and exploring a range of texts to develop our comprehension, fluency and vocabulary. We will also be using a book called The Last Wolf by Mini Grey to develop our writing skills and looking at animal poems from a poetry book called Apes to Zebras. We are going to read the hilarious Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl as our class novel.
In science, we will be continuing our learning about plants, discovering what plants need to grow and growing our own vegetables in our school grounds. In RE, taught by Miss McLaughlin, we will be discovering why the church is a special place for Christians. We will begin our wider curriculum learning with a study of Edward Tinga Tinga's artwork before creating our own sculptures inspired by him.
