Elder 2023 - 2024
Welcome to Elder Class!
In Elder, we are a year 5 class taught by Miss Harrison and Mrs Penaluna.
During this term, we are also joined by Miss Howorth.
We hope you are all ready for an exciting summer term!
In Elder class this term, we will be reading 'Great Adventurers' by Alastair Humphreys, 'The Brilliant Deep' by Kate Messner and 'Sky Chasers' by Emma Carroll. After half term, we will also be exploring the Women of Shakespeare! In maths, our main focus will be our understanding of fractions, decimals and percentages and science will focus on Materials and Forces. In RE, we will be exploring the Bible as well as the Holy Books from other world faiths.
We will be getting creative in Art by exploring observational drawings inspired by Albrecht Durer and in DT when we explore fashion and textiles. History and Geography will also lead us to learn about Vikings and Mountains!
