Welcome to the Maple Class page
We hope that you will find lots of useful information about your child's learning along with ways to support their learning outside of school.
Our theme this half term is ‘Our Ace Place’. Over the next term, we will be exploring our local area and thinking about what we like about it and what we think can be done to make it a better place. This will include lots of fieldwork and visits to Mercer Park and we will also be sending our ideas to the council about how we think that the play area can be improved by creating our own 3d models in DT. In history, we will be looking at how Clayton le Moors has changed and developed over time and we will be asking the question ‘Why is John Mercer significant?’ In English we will be exploring the David Walliams story ‘There’s a Snake in My School!’ and asking Mrs SC if we can have our own ‘Bring-Your-Pet-to-School-Day’. We will also be sharing Katie Morag’s adventures on the Isle of Struay and comparing where she lives to our own local area.
In science, we will be looking at living things and their habitats. Again, spending lots of time in our school grounds and the surrounding areas exploring this. This will also include a fantastic trip to Chester zoo where will be learning about some exotic animals and their habitats. We will also be carrying out lots of WOW science experiments too!
We can't wait to share all of these amazing experiences with you this term!
