Headteacher's Welcome

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
At All Saints’ Church of England Primary School, our vision is simple yet deeply meaningful: “Let your light shine.”
Rooted in the words of Jesus from Matthew 5:16, this vision is grounded in theology and reflects the unique context of our school community. It reminds us that each of us has a light within — our God-given gifts and potential — which we are called to share with the world.
Our Christian vision, ethos, values, and mission statement are at the heart of everything we do. They shape our teaching and learning, guide our relationships, and inspire an environment where all can flourish. Together, they help us nurture children who are confident, independent, and full of joy — children who let their light shine brightly in all aspects of life.
These guiding principles were developed in partnership with pupils, staff, governors, parents, and our wider church community. They reflect who we are and what we collectively aspire to be: a family rooted in faith, love, and hope.
We want every child at All Saints’ to flourish — to achieve their very best, to develop a lifelong love of learning, and to discover the light that makes them special. From the moment children join our school family, we encourage them to shine brightly through kindness, curiosity, perseverance, and faith.
As a church school, we believe it is important that others see Jesus in us — in the way we treat one another, in the choices we make, and in the joy we bring to our community. Even in difficult times, we remember that Jesus is our guiding light, and that there is always hope, always light, even in the darkest moments.
We celebrate the ways in which our children let their light shine through our ‘Shine Cards’, ‘Shine Stickers’, worship celebrations, and newsletter highlights, recognising the many ways light, love, and learning are lived out across our school.
Our five core Christian values — Love, Perseverance, Respect, Faith, and Joy — are central to this vision. They help us to understand what it means to live out our faith and to let our light shine through actions as well as words.
You can find out more about these values, the Bible stories that inspire them, and how they are woven throughout our curriculum and worship life, by visiting the RE section of our website. There you will also find our Values Document, which explains what each value means to us, when we focus on it, and why it matters deeply within our All Saints’ family.

Vicar's Welcome
As vicar I write to welcome you to the website of All Saints’ Primary School here in Clayton-le-Moors.
All Saints’ School has a special place at the heart of our parish community. It exists to serve all our children, helping them to lay down good foundations spiritually, morally, socially and academically within a supportive Christian environment. We give all our children the opportunity to hear about the love of God in Jesus Christ and to respond in ways that are appropriate to them. Our school seeks to reflect and teach core Christian values including love, respect, forgiveness and trust.
All Saints’ School and Church are fortunate to occupy adjacent sites which makes it easy for the school to come and worship in the church building and for strong links to be developed in both directions. If you are thinking about a school for your child, I would encourage you to browse the website and even better to come and look around.
Rev’d Toby
Vicar of Altham and Clayton-le-Moors
