DT
Autumn 1 feedback
DT Curriculum Champions
With prompts, the children could name the five strands of DT.
Textiles, Structures, Food and Nutrition, Electrical Systems and Mechanisms
My favourite thing last year was:
- We all loved making food.
- We enjoyed building a bridge and getting to work out different designs.
- We enjoyed making bread and being able to make something we could eat from scratch.
- I liked when we were making our final product - we were given time to work freely and at our own pace using different materials.
- We liked making sandwiches because we actually got to eat them.
- I enjoyed making vehicles because we were given freedom when designing because the user was ourselves.
- We enjoyed make fruit kebabs because we got to eat them.
My hopes for this year are:
- That we get to work with different children in the class.
- That we get to work with different types of designs.
- That we get to work with a range of materials, like wood.
- that we get to make burgers because it will be different to anything that we have made before.
- That we get to make different sewing projects.
Skills that we would like to develop this year are:
- Working together as a team.
- Being able to persevere when our plans don’t go the way that we want them to.
- To be more patient when getting resources that we need.
- Being tidier whilst we work.
- Being safe and making good choices when using equipment.
- To remain calm when things aren’t working (not get angry/stressed!)
